Necessita Coffee House

The coffee house was the second project I personally created, but the first step of my architecture experience that I took to understanding site design and functionality of public spaces. The idea of filling a vacancy in the community still excites me and this concept continues to be a proud benchmark for my progress.
A simple coffee house with the sole purpose of bringing people together. Sporting large outdoor space and an open dining area, the building is located toward the front of the site to invite onlookers. The large use of glass allows for the activities of the day to be on display, wherever someone may find to set their mug. 1000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space sets an intimate environment to share conversation, start the day, or unwind with friend and family. The organic stone flooring is continued throughout indoor and outdoor space and mirrored on the walls to allow for the sense of connectivity to transcend throughout with a complementary natural and neutral palette. "Necessita" is Italian for "need", as many would agree coffee is a necessary part of the day and a space like this is necessary in all communities.
